A 16th arrest has been made in connection with the telephone hacking scandal that has roiled Rupert Murdoch’s media empire. However, Scotland Yard conducted this one in a different manner than the others. While the other 15 were contacted and given an appointment to be booked, fingerprinted, processed, and released on bail, the latest arrest was carried out at 5:55 in the morning today (Wednesday) at the man’s home. Scotland Yard said only that he had been arrested on conspiring to intercept communications. It gave the man’s age as 35 but did not further identify him. It was the second arrest within the past week made in connection with the scandal.
