It may be a lousy time of the year at the box office, but all those big summer blockbusters are now arriving on DVD and Blu-ray. And making a big splash. Last week, Paramount Home Entertainment’s Thor hit the top of the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart, displacing the previous week’s winner, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment’s X-Men: First Class. But most impressive, given its whopping MSRP of $139.99 was the third-place debut of the Blu-ray package Star Wars: The Complete Saga, featuring all six films. On Home Media Magazine‘s rental chart, Thor also headed the list — given the fact that Paramount does not impose a 28-day waiting period before making it available on Redbox and Netflix.
