NFL preseason games televised on cable in local markets probably drew viewers away from broadcast television Thursday night — because of the holiday, ratings for the games may not be disclosed until next week — but CBS recorded solid numbers anyway, leading in total adults and in the 18-49 demo in every half hour, peaking in the 9:00 p.m. hour with 9.7 million viewers for Big Brother 13. Big Brother was also one of just two shows that were not reruns Thursday night. The other was ABC’s Rookie Blue, which attracted 5.86 million viewers at 10:00 p.m., placing second to CBS’s The Mentalist with 7.2 million viewers.
