Simon Cowell, the creator and executive producer of America’s Got Talent, has confirmed that Howard Stern is being considered to replace Piers Morgan as a judge on the talent contest. “I like him,” Cowell told Access Hollywood. However, he cautioned, he’s not the final decision-maker. “There’s a lot of people who make decisions on this stuff. Money’s got to work, schedules got to work. There might be a few twists and turns still,” Cowell said. Asked about numerous reports that Stern wants a $20-million annual paycheck to do the show, Cowell replied, “I’m sure he does. Who doesn’t? That’s not up to me. That’s up to [NBC]. I don’t write the checks, baby.” Cowell also said that he would not be averse to moving the show to New York to accommodate Stern. “I like change,” he said. “Whatever’s right for the show, we’ll do.”
