In a departure from standard practice by most network broadcasters, NBC has begun posting entire seasons of some of its shows on its website. Ordinarily only a handful of recent episodes are posted online, since producers worry that the shows would face difficulty on the syndication market if they were already available on the Internet. In some instances, NBC is risking little. Talent shows and other unscripted shows are rarely picked up for syndication. It is therefore understandable that the network has already posted the first season of The Voice on its website, with the last seasons of The Biggest Loser and Sing-off to follow. But the network may also be hoping to boost interest in other shows that face cancellation before they even have a chance to turn out enough episodes to qualify for syndication. It therefore is posting all of the episodes to date for the current season of Parenthood, Grimm, Whitney and Up All Night.
