The NFL Network boasted on Monday that its Thursday Night Football telecasts averaged 6.2 million viewers this season — a record for the network and up 8 percent from last year’s record high. In addition, it said, online and mobile viewing added another 450,000 to the total. In a statement, the cable network noted that the total audience was nearly twice what it was when it launched in 2006 (3.1 million viewers). The highest-rated NFL Network telecast of the season, it said, was its Thanksgiving night coverage of the San Francisco-Baltimore game with 10.7 million viewers, making it the most-watched cable program of any sort in Thanksgiving history.
