PIRATES DOWNLOADING FLOPS, IGNORING HITS

Suggesting that those who download pirated movies from BitTorrent sites are more interested in looking at films that they’ve missed or wouldn’t otherwise pay money for, TorrentFreak’s list of the 10 most pirated movies for this week puts The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1, at No. 6 — up from No. 7 the previous week. It is currently the No. 1 film in theaters. The only other film among the theatrical top ten that made the pirate top ten was Immortals, which came in at No. 4 (No. 8 on the theatrical list). The No. 1 bootleg was Cowboys and Aliens, which was released last July and flopped. No. 2 was Conan the Barbarian, which was released last October and also flopped — worse.
