X FACTOR CLOSING WITH BIG — BUT NOT GREAT — NUMBERS

Its numbers were only a fraction of those for a finale of American Idol, but the final performance episode of The X Factor‘s first season attracted 10.5 million viewers in its first hour Wednesday night and 12.3 million in its second, winning the night for Fox. Everything else on network television looked mostly unimpressive. NBC did get a boost from its new game show Who’s Still Standing, whose numbers — 5.6 million tuned in — were about flat with Tuesday night’s episode — not bad but not good — but A Michael Bublé Christmas at 9:00 drew a last-place 4.4 million viewers, and the network’s usual standout, Law & Order: SVU drew just 4.05 million as a repeat.
