MOVIE REVIEWS: WRATH OF THE TITANS

March 30, 2012 by · 2 Comments

The reviews for Wrath of the Titans are about as wrathful as those for Clash of the Titans were two years ago. Those negative reviews did not hinder the movie from earning nearly a half-billion dollars in 2010. And there’s a legitimate question about who actually reads reviews of movies like this. The best that can be said about the movie is said by Andy Webster in the New York Times: “At least it doesn’t take itself too seriously. Of course, there’s also something to be said for the pleasure of reading just the critics’ zingers — like Kyle Smith’s in the New York Post, who begins his review thusly: “A two-headed dragon. A fanged serpent. A brutish 50-foot Cyclops. Another Republican debate? No, it’s Wrath of the Titans, a journey back to an ancient time when gods walked the earth, monsters breathed fire and stout-hearted warriors wore adorable leather cheerleader skirts with strappy gladiator sandals.”
