HARDLY ANY SLOWING FOR UNIVERSAL’S BATTLESHIP OVERSEAS
Overseas, Universal’s Battleship continued to steam full speed ahead of the competition, earning $58.4 million in its second weekend, to bring it total to $129.6 million. The film, based on a hit videogame from Hasbro, is opening in foreign territories weeks ahead of its domestic debut in order to avoid having to compete for attention this summer against the Olympics and Euro 2012, the European soccer championships.
