EACH MAJOR DVD SELLER WILL HAVE EXCLUSIVE HUNGER GAMES SET
It’s getting so that home video releases are being sold like mattresses — each major retailer being given its own “exclusive” version of the same product. Such appears to be the case with the Aug. 18 release of The Hunger Games. According to Home Media magazine, the nation’s three largest DVD/Blu-ray dealers, Walmart, Target and Bust Buy, will each offer a different package. Walmart, it noted, is offering a Vudu digital copy in its Hunger Games package together with a mockingjay pendant, priced at $22.96 for the standard-definition DVD and $26.96 for the Blu-ray. Target is offering a three-disc edition with 45 minutes of extras for $24.99 on DVD (Blu-ray: $22.99). And Best Buy is offering a four-disk set for $29.99.
