Max Rice

Max Rice, who punk’d Fox News’s Fox & Friends co-host Gretchen Carlson, has told that it was easy to do — too easy, in fact. The “recent college graduate who voted for President Obama in 2008 and now supports Mitt Romney,” as he was described, said that he jumped at the chance to be interviewed on the show because of his belief that “there’s absolutely no journalistic merit whatsoever” associated with the conservative news channel. “And this [his appearance on the show] is like a clear example of that,” he added. Rice admitted that he lied when he told a Fox News producer that he was a recent graduate of the University of Texas. In fact, he currently attends Columbia College Chicago, he said, and is 20 years old. He told Politico, “They never called to ask me how old I was, they never called the University of Texas, they never asked to see my driver’s license, because I’m 20 years old. How could I have possibly voted [in 2008]?” Rice clearly has no regrets about his deception, noting that the hosts of Fox and Friends are paid “hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, millions of dollars a year, and they’re not held to the same journalist standards that my sophomore brother is on a four-page paper. If my brother pulled the crap that Fox pulled [in not vetting him], he’d be expelled.”
