The National Geographic Channel said on Thursday that it plans to air on Nov. 4 a dramatic recreation of the May 2011 raid by Navy Seals that ended with the killing of Osama bin Laden. The broadcast date is two days before the presidential election, but the channel maintained that politics played no part in its scheduling decision. The film, Seal Team Six: the Raid on Osama Bin Laden, is also due to stream on Netflix, the following day, Nov. 5. Another film based on the killing, Zero Dark Thirty, was scheduled to be released theatrically on election eve but was moved to Dec. 19 when the distributors were accused of attempting to influence the vote.
