In a run-up to the Christmas-day release of Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, Fathom Events, which distributes filmed and live special programming to select theaters, has mounted a two-day “event” that it is calling “Tarantino XX.” On Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 7:00 p.m. local time, it will be presenting a 20th-anniversary showing of Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs, followed on Thursday, Dec. 6 (also at 7:00 p.m.) by a screening of Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction. Certain theaters will also offer matinee showings of the film. The “events” also include what a Fathom blurb described as “feature trailers hand-picked by Quentin Tarantino which influenced his work, and exclusive new interviews.” A list of theaters participating in “Tarantino XX” can be found at http://www.fandango.com/tarantinoxx:reservoirdogs20thanniversaryevent_158726/movietimes. On Monday Tarantino collected an award for best screenplay at the Hollywood Film Awards for Django Unchained, which has yet to be screened. “It’s strange to get an award while I’m still in the editing room,” he remarked.
