It’s still not clear to what extent continued electrical outages on the East Coast may be affecting television ratings. But the overnight numbers for the broadcast networks on Monday night were down across the board. That is particularly unfortunate for the networks given the fact that this is a sweeps month. Once again ABC’s Dancing with the Stars and NBC’s The Voice battled it out, with the ABC contest drawing the most viewers — an average of 13.4 million — while NBC landed the most viewers in the target 18-49 age group. ABC remained ahead at 10:00 p.m. in both total viewers and those 18-49 with the drama Castle. CBS’s comedies, which until recently dominated Monday nights, were all down significantly. Indeed the network wound up in fourth place in the 8:00 p.m. hour as How I Met Your Mother and Partners fell behind Fox’s Bones. Fox, however, was unable to boost ratings for its 9:00 p.m. newcomer, The Mob Doctor, which drew just 3.4 million viewers.
