Its numbers were certainly not what they used to be — in fact, they were near the series’ lows — but Fox’s American Idol remained the No. 1 television show Wednesday night as it attracted 11.98 million viewers for its performance episode, peaking in the 9:30 p.m. half hour with 12.87 million viewers. It was not the No. 1 show of the night among viewers 18-49, however. That honor went to ABC’s Modern Family with a 3.8 rating and a 10 share in the younger demo. Idol drew a 3.2/9. Family counted 10.22 million viewers. At 10:00 p.m., CBS’s CSI: Crime Scene Investigation took over the lead with 10.93 million viewers and a 2.4/7 in the 18-49 age group.
