WOODY ALLEN TO GET HIS WIDEST RELEASE EVER

Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine is set to expand to more than 1,200 screens over the weekend. While a relatively small number compared with other films, it represents the widest release of an Allen film ever. In limited release for the past three weeks, the film has sold more tickets on a per-theater basis than any other film currently in release. It has also drawn some of the best reviews for a Woody Allen film — there have been 44 of them — particularly for the performance of Cate Blanchett.
