The Fifth Estate, the movie based on Julian Assange’s WikiLeaks exploit, heads Forbes magazine’s list of the biggest movie flops of the year. The film, which starred Benedict Cumberbatch and Daniel Bruel, earned just $6 million at the box office but cost $28 million to produce. Doing almost as badly was Bullet to the Head, which starred Sylvester Stallone and Christian Slater. It brought in just $9 million, while costing $25 million. Third on the list was Paranoia, which starred Harrison Ford and Liam Hemsworth. It brought in just $13.5 million on a budget of $35 million. Somewhat surprisingly, The Lone Ranger escaped the list’s bullets. While tanking at the domestic box office, the film did well enough overseas to wind up with a small profit, according to Forbes.
