Four of the five most-pirated movies of last week were newcomers to the list compiled by, and none of them was a huge blockbuster. Coming in at No. 1 was the action/sci-fi film Riddick, starring Vin Diesel, which earned just $42 million when it was released in September. Coming in second was Sony’s Captain Phillips, starring Tom Hanks, which was the only bona fide hit on the list with $102.8 million. A bona fide flop, Kick-Ass 2, which opened in theaters with a first-weekend tally of just $13.3 million on its way to $28.8 million, took over third place. Last week’s top pirated film, Prisoners, ranked fourth. with $60.8 million at the box office, while the Sylvester Stallone-Arnold Schwarzenegger flop Escape Plan rounded out the top five. It brought in just $24.5 million during its domestic run in theaters.
