Warner Bros. executives might well have been whistling “Everything Is Awesome” from The Lego Movie as box office results came in for the second weekend of the animated movie. It took in $62.5 million over the four-day Presidents Day frame and $49.8 million for the three-day regular weekend (a drop of just 28 percent from its opening weekend). That brought its domestic gross after only 11 days to $142.8 million. In second place, the romcom remake About Last Night opened with $25.6 million. BoxOfficeMojo.com said that it was the best opening for a romantic comedy since 2012’s Think Like a Man, which also starred Kevin Hart, Michael Ealy and Regina Hall. Last month Hart starred in Ride Along, which opened with $41.5 million and became January’s biggest hit. Overall, the box office was up 9 percent over the comparable weekend a year ago, when A Good Day to Die Hard opened in first place with $29.3 million and Identity Thief followed close behind with with $27.9 million.
