An article by Consumer Reports health-care expert Nancy Metcalf refuting claims by a woman with lupus that she lost her affordable insurance because of ObamaCare has raised eyebrows not so much because of the opinions and information it contains but because it was published on the website of the Fox Business Network. FBN is a corporate sibling of the Fox News Channel and the New York Post, who have both given prominent attention — and backing — to the lupus victim’s claims, which first appeared as an ad produced by the conservative Americans for Prosperity, a political organization funded by oil billionaires David and Charles Koch, and later in an op-ed for the Post. Liberal groups appeared surprised that the Metcalf article managed to receive prominent placement on FBN — under the headline, “Don’t be fooled by another ‘ObamaCare horror story.'” The anti-Fox-News website News Corpse noted that Fox News has “relentlessly” covered the claims by the lupus victim, Emilie Lamb, “So it is somewhat curious that they permitted their hype to be debunked on their little-viewed Fox Business Network website.”
