CABLE COMPANIES RECEIVE FAILING GRADES FROM CONSUMERS

Among 19 industries surveyed by the Temkin Experience Ratings, which examines the quality of customer experiences with those industries, TV service providers — i.e., cable, satellite and fiber-optic systems — rated dead last in 2013. In its ratings, a score of 70 percent or more is considered “good,” and a score of 80 percent or above is considered “excellent.” Overall, the TV services industry averaged a 54 percent rating. Of 268 companies included in the survey, Bright House Networks, which operates in Indianapolis, Central Florida, suburban Detroit, IL and Bakersfield, CA, placed 160th, making it the highest-rated in the industry. It received a rating of 64 percent. The second-highest was DirecTV, which came in at No. 174 on the list with a rating of 63 percent. At No. 260, Comcast was the worst of the lot with a rating of 47 percent.
