MICHAEL J. FOX — NO “DEATH SENTENCE” FOR HIS SERIES — YET

Although it has been off the air for weeks, The Michael J. Fox Show has not been handed a “death sentence,” Fox has told the New York Times. Seven already-filmed but unaired shows have been produced, including one guest-starring Christopher Lloyd, who costarred with Fox in the Back to the Future films, and, said Fox, “We’re hoping NBC can still find a good place for the last episodes.” Fox blames the low rating of his show on the Thursday time slot it was handed, opposite some of the most popular shows on network television. “I have said that you could hide out from the F.B.I. on Thursday night on NBC,” he said. There was also what co-creator Will Gluck referred to as “the elephant in the room,” Fox’s affliction with Parkinson’s disease. “It takes a while for people to get past that,” Gluck told the Times, but once they do, “people [who] watch are extremely inspired by it.”
