NOW, IT’S THE VOICE THAT FALTERS

Audiences appear to be wearying of all singing contests — even the ones that produced some of last season’s highest ratings. The latest show to take a ratings hit is NBC’s The Voice, which recorded its lowest ratings for a Monday show ever. Viewers fell to 11.67 million, with a 3.3 ratings among 18-49 year-olds, the age group that advertisers covet the most. There was no decline in the audience for ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, which drew 14.20 million viewers on Monday night. Unfortunately, its audience skews considerably older. Among the 18-49 set it drew a 2.3/7. Indeed CBS’s 2 Broke Girls in the 8:00 p.m. half hour recorded an almost exact same rating, a 2.2/7 but with just 7.21 million viewers — half as many as what DWTS attracted.
