FROZEN SLIPS FROM FIRST PLACE IN HOME-VIDEO SALES

Disney’s Frozen has slipped a notch on the the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart, knocked out of first place, where it had remained firmly entrenched for seven of the past eight weeks, by Lionsgate’s I, Frankenstein. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug took over third place, while Warner’s Her debuted at No. 4 and Sony’s That Awkward Moment at No. 5. Lionsgate, which does not require the big video rental services to wait 28 days before making their releases available for rent, made I, Frankenstein available for rent on the same day that it was released for sale. The results were not impressive. It came in at No. 3 on the rental chart. The No. 1 rental was the Universal comedy Ride Along, followed by Fox’s The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
