DETAILS OF NEW SAG-AFTRA CONTRACT WITH AMPTP DISCLOSED

The principal gain for SAG-AFTRA in their tentative contract agreement with the AMPTP is that, for the first time, basic cable is included in the deal, analysts said over the weekend. In a message to union members, David White, SAG-AFTRA’s executive director and chief negotiator, noted that the basic cable agreement was "something we have wanted for two decades. The three-year agreement also reportedly calls for wage increases of 2.5 percent in the first year, 3 percent in the second year and 3 percent in the third year. Stand-ins received an "outsized" increase of 5 percent per year for each of the forthcoming three years. In addition, producers agreed to contribute an additional 0.5 percent to the pension, health and retirement plans, which have yet to be merged.
