IF ROSIE ARRIVES AT THE VIEW, PRODUCER WILL BE OUT OF SIGHT

If, as expected, Rosie O’Donnell returns to The View, Bill Geddie, the show’s executive producer, will depart, the New York Daily News reported today (Thursday), citing sources as saying that there is "lingering animosity" between the two over the 2007 dustup with Elisabeth Hasselbeck that resulted in O’Donnell’s departure. The Daily News report claims that O’Donnell was furious with Geddie for egging Hasselbeck on via her earpiece and cutting to a split-screen view of the couple going at it. "It’s no secret that [Rosie and Bill] hate each other," a source told the newspaper. Meanwhile, on Wednesday two other former co-hosts of The View commented on the unconfirmed reports that O’Donnell was returning to the show. Hasselbeck described her as a "woman who spit in the face of our military, spit in the face of her own network." A few hours later, another former View panelist, Joy Behar, joined in, castigating Hasselbeck for her comments, asking "Isn’t it kind of a nasty thing to say about somebody who basically is a good person? …I thought that was really kind of below-the-belt to say that she spits in the face of the military… That’s a dangerous thing to say about somebody. … I think it’s a hate-filled remark. And she should explain it."
