NO MORE MERGERS FOR COMCAST, IT PROMISES

Comcast won’t be involved in any other big mergers if its deal to acquire Time Warner Cable is approved, it said Tuesday. In a conference calls ith investors and journalists to discuss its second-quarter earnings — it posted a solid $2-billion profit — Comcast executives were asked if it intended toseek any more deals with smaller cable companies. Replied Comcast cable chief Neil Smit: "Our plate is quite full." Would it be interested in another content company to bolster NBCUniversal, then? the executives were asked. No, replied NBCUniversal chief Steve Burke, "We certainly don’t think we need to bulk up in content."
