CABLE TV VIEWERS CERTAINLY LIKE THEIR SHARKS

Sharknado 2: The Second One tore through Wednesday’s cable-TV ratings, drawing 3.9 million viewers, 1.6 million of whom were in the 18-49 demographic group, according to Nielsen Research. It was Syfy channel’s most watched original movie ever, the channel said. Compared with the premiere of the first Sharknado movie, ratings for the new one were up 183 percent. Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that it delivered more than one billion impressions on Twitter — more than Godzilla, Transformers 2, and 22 Jump Street did following their release.
