In what appeared to be on its face a convoluted expression of regret over his tweeted comments about rape, rapper and former The Voice judge Cee Lo Green, said on Tuesday, “I sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context.” The comments, which appeared on Green’s Twitter page and were later deleted were: “People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!! If someone is passed out they’re not even WITH you consciously! so WITH Implies consent.” His remarks followed his recent plea of no contest to charges of slipping the drug ecstasy into a woman’s drink in 2012. Some trade reports on Tuesday said that following Green’s remarks, TBS canceled his reality show The Good Life. However, the Hollywood Reporter quoted a source as saying that the cable network had already decided not to renew it because of low ratings.
