Original daytime TV shows continued to belong mostly to the women last week, with Judge Judy remaining far ahead of the pack with an average of 10.4 million viewers and a 7.1 rating. The Ellen DeGeneres Show boasted that it delivered the biggest season-premiere week since the show launched 12 years ago, averaging 3.8 million viewers and a 2.8 rating. The opening week of the new Meredith Vieira Show attracted 1.6 million viewers and a 1.3 rating. The New York Post noted that it was the third-biggest daytime talk show opening in the past four years. But male daytime hosts also made solid showings in the ratings. Dr. Phil remained the No. 1 daytime talk show with 4.4 million viewers and a 3.2 rating, while Steve Harvey debuted his new season with 2.5 million viewers and a 1.9 rating — up 36 percent over last season’s premiere.
