Nielsen, which has acknowledged that it had been reporting inaccurate ratings for seven months, failed to release ratings for last week on Tuesday, its usual day for doing so. In a notice appearing on its website (where ratings for broadcast TV shows for the entire year were deleted this week), Nielsen said, "There are some delays in the Press Room files and, as such, they will not be posted today, Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014. When the files ARE posted, an email will be sent to ALL press room users alerting them to the update. Thank you for your continued patience." As of noon, Eastern Times today (Wednesday), the ratings results for last week had still not been posted on the Nielsen press-room site. NBC, however, sent out a news release saying that its NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams had won the week in total viewers, as well as the 25-54 age group and the 18-49 group. the NBC newscast, it said, attracted 8.56 million total viewers versus 8.21 million for ABC World News Tonight with David Muir and 6.22 million for the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley.
