MINAJ VIDEO CONDEMNED BY PROMINENT JEWISH ORGANIZATION

November 10, 2014 by · Leave a Comment

In a rare castigation of a popular music star, the Anti-Defamation League, the leading national organization opposing anti-Semitism, has accused Nicki Minaj of invoking Nazi propaganda in her new music video "Only." In a statement, ADL Chairman Abraham Foxman called the video "deeply disturbing and offensive to Jews" because it "disturbingly evokes Third Reich propaganda and constitutes a new low for pop culture’s exploitation of Nazi symbolism." He also took note of the timing of the video’s release. "The irony should be lost on no one that this video debuted on the 76th anniversary of Kristallnacht, the ‘night of broken glass’ pogrom that signaled the beginning of the Final Solution and the Holocaust." Neither Minaj nor her representatives have responded to the criticism.
